Korean Ginseng Cultivation
Taking 6 to 7 years to grow to maturity in humus-rich soil, the ginseng root absorbs many valuable elements and nutrients. Cultivated ginseng grows under carefully erected shades made from straw and is grown without modern insecticides or artificial fertilizers.
After harvesting, the soil must rest for 10 years before being ready for the next crop, as the ginseng roots drains the soil completely of its nutrients. Ginseng is extremely sensitive to environmental conditions and therefore demands meticulous care from the time of sowing until harvesting.
